Not much seems to have happenned in late 2007! Maybe we were all just too depressed to update the website as we tried to keep clear of the floods! With an early Easter this year, our season starts early, but as so often happens in this case, everything slows up a bit afterwards, as we wait for the weather to catch up. We will have some new flavours launching soon, Mango sorbet, Lemon Tea sorbet, and Apple Cinnamon ice cream, and all will be packaged in beautiful new tubs - watch this space!
In line with our green credentials, we have just installed a water cooling tower to recycle all the water that cools the machinery when it's in operation. This will have a marked beneficial effect on our carbon footprint. It relies on the evaporation of water by the sun's heat on the outside of the tower to cool the water inside.

The new freezer is up and running and has made a big difference to the consistency of the ice cream. We are just ending the first week of production with it, and it has changed position three times already, as production staff work out the best product flow. We will be represented on the Waitrose stand at the Royal Show.

We have just taken delivery of our new ice cream freezer. Made by WCB in Aarhus, Denmark, it has the capability of producing 600 litres per hour of ice cream. This should give us not only greater capacity, but also greater control of the end product. This is the second time it has been delivered, it had been fitted with a faulty valve, which had survived the testing process but then deteriorated over the time it took to get to us from the factory. This meant that it had to go back to Denmark for refitting and re-testing. We should have it commissioned and fully operational by 25th June.
