Welcome to September Organic
September Organic ice cream is renowned for its purity, its clean taste and its true flavours. Our aim is to make a product that anybody could make in their kitchen at home. The milk we use comes from Ayrshire cows, and it travels about eight hundred yards from the farm to the ice cream dairy. To this we add double cream, wonderful golden egg yolks, unrefined cane sugar, and a bit of skimmed milk powder (to give the ice cream some 'body').
If the carton says strawberry, then the ice cream has strawberries in it, no concentrate, no 'natural flavourings', just strawberries. How revolutionary is that?
The company was started in 1987, so we've had plenty of time to refine things so that we're totally happy with them.
The name September often provokes questions. September was the pedigree name of our cow herd. (The individual name was that of a bird species - a very successful cow we had was called September Plover for example) It is also, of course, the month of harvest, of mists and mellow fruitfulness, of nature’s bounty. By coincidence, it is also the month we made our first ice cream, and our first organic ice cream.
Product Range
We are not Italian, so we don't do Tutti Frutti, we are not American, so we don't do Cookie Dough Fudge Crunch, we do do Elderflower Cream, Blackberry & Apple Crumble and Brown Bread (yes, Brown Bread).
