how do we do it?
The question on most people's lips when we introduce them to mail order ice cream is 'How do you stop it from melting?'
We use a system made by Softbox Systems (Tell me more) which consists of a polystyrene insulated container and a quantity of dry ice. (What is dry ice?) This keeps the product below 25 degrees for at least 24 hours, allowing us to send the box unrefrigerated, by overnight courier. If possible, it is better to be at home to receive the consignment, but if this is not possible, you can let us know a safe place to leave it, and we will arrange for it to be left without a signature where it will be fine until the evening. We would not be able to accept any responsibility for theft or damage if you choose to do this.
When can I order?
You can place an order at any time and we will let you know that we have received the order. If you leave your credit card details, payment will not be taken until the consignment is despatched. We can't necessarily send it immediately however. As we have to order the dry ice in bulk, and it can't be stored, we have to limit our 'sending out' days. This schedule will change as the number of orders grows so please do keep an eye on this page.
