September Organic is now based in the picturesque Herefordshire village of Weobley. It was established on a small dairy farm in the Welsh Marches in 1987 when it was conceived as a way of limiting effect of milk quotas. Since that time it has gone from strength to strength, commanding a high degree of customer loyalty, firstly in Herefordshire, and more recently natiowide. We are still a completely independent family business.

The decision to commit the entire business to an organic system was taken in 1997, a process which was completed in September 1999. We have always tried to farm with minimal negative impact on the environment, and organics seemed to be the next logical step.

For the first 17 years all the milk, eggs and cream used in the manufacture of the ice cream were produced on our farm. We lost our herd to an outbreak of TB in 2003. Ice cream is now made for us by another family owned business who are based on their own organic farm, and whose ethics are an exact fit with ours.
